A New Semester Begins | Faculty and Students Attend Michelle Pan’s Concert
As the new semester begins, our faculty and students had the great pleasure of attending a concert by renowned singer Michelle Pan (潘越雲). It was a wonderful way to welcome the new academic year through a performing arts experience filled with vitality and inspiration.
From the moment Michelle Pan began to sing, we were reminded of the extraordinary vitality of an authentic voice and genuine artistry—emotions refined through time, decades of stage experience, and a distinctive personal charisma. This human warmth is something that even the most advanced AI cannot truly replace.
A great performing artist is defined not merely by a moment in the spotlight, but by the ability to transcend generations, sustain a lifelong artistic career, and continue influencing audiences over time.
We often say that an iconic performing artist is much like a timeless luxury brand.
Just as Coco Chanel represents far more than a product—embodying a distinctive style, an era, and enduring brand value across generations—a performing artist must possess not only talent and professionalism, but also the ability to manage and sustain a lifelong artistic career.
Interestingly, renowned singer Bobby Chen (陳昇) also joined the event and promoted his 31st consecutive New Year’s Eve performance. It offered our students a vivid, real-world example of performing arts marketing: artists supporting one another, connecting audiences across different stages, and generating greater exposure through co-promotion.
行銷管理,讓好的藝術被更多人看見;
財務管理,讓藝術生涯得以穩健而長久,為未來與退休做好準備;
人力資源管理,讓優秀團隊共同成就舞台;
Performing arts, therefore, are about much more than singing, dancing, and acting on stage.
Marketing management helps great art reach wider audiences.
Financial management supports a stable and sustainable artistic career while preparing artists for their long-term future and retirement.
Human resource management builds the professional teams behind successful performances.
Production and operations management transforms creative ideas into outstanding performances.
These are precisely the core areas emphasized in our Performing Arts Management education.
Our goal is not simply to train students to sing, dance, or act. We hope they will learn how to transform their talents into sustainable professions and careers—and ultimately build their own performing arts brands.
We hope every student will have not only the freedom to pursue a dream, but also the knowledge, skills, and opportunities to make that dream possible.
For 45 years, Michelle Pan has touched generations of audiences with her distinctive voice and artistic charisma. The interaction among artists that evening also gave our faculty and students something beyond a memorable concert—it became a real-life lesson in Performing Arts Management.
真正的表演藝術,可以超越流行、跨越時間;

True performing arts can transcend trends and time;
great performing arts management enables artistry to travel farther—and endure longer.
